#TERRARIA CALAMITY MOD MODS#
That's not the only criteria I expect to be met either, & because the things I'm looking for these Mods to do are very specific, & very intentional, it was only fair to express them now & openly, so it doesn't appear that I'm developing issues with execution as things progress, or that I'm moving the goalpost.
This is one of the reasons I'm going in with a slight bias, because either way, I'm expecting these Mods I'll be playing, to be superior experiences to 1.4.0 & 1.4.1.

The main criticisms I kept hearing repeatedly, were how such-&-such Mod did this or that thing better, & why didn't they just do this-or-that thing!? That's where things might get a bit tricky for my review, because as a person who's never played any Terraria Mods before, one of the common selling points I've been hearing over the years, is that some Mods are a clear representation of what Terraria should be & then later when 1.4.0 was released, the sentiments didn't change.

Firstly, I wanna make it clear that I haven't dived as deep into 1.4.1 as I'd of liked just yet, as there's still a long list of things I'm interested in testing & experimenting with, but for the most part, I feel like I got a full & healthy 1.4.1 experience that I'm satisfied with. There's a few reasons I wanna do this & that's why I wanted to get all of my biases out of the way first, before I start publishing my findings. Their hardened bodies make them formidable threats. So, I finally reached a point in Terraria's lifespan, where I'm interested in testing out some popular Mods. The Bestiary entry for the Basilisk: " Sturdy as a rock, these lizard-like beasts roam the desert in search of food. The internal name for the Basilisk is DesertBeast. The Basilisk can be considered a much stronger version of the Antlion Charger. Also unlike mythological basilisks, the Basilisks in Terraria do not kill the player with their gaze, nor do they have poisonous breath attacks. They seem to be inspired by the physical appearance of the thorny devil lizard, which is a real lizard that is endemic to the deserts, scrubland, and grasslands of Australia. Contrary to this, the Basilisks in Terraria resemble lizards.
In European bestiaries and legends, basilisks are often depicted as snake-like creatures that can kill with their gaze or poisonous breath.Because of that, it is best to walk backward as a Basilisk approaches or use a minion to weaken it. However, these weapons have limited range, such as the Shadowflame Knife, or in the case of the Megashark, accuracy best used in medium-ranged encounters. Ranged weapons with a high rate of fire and decent knockback, such as the Megashark, but also the Shadowflame Knife, are effective against Basilisks from longer distances. When fighting Basilisks, fighting them from above or with weapons that deal high knockback is a good idea.It has a chance of dropping Sturdy Fossils and a rare chance to drop the Ancient Horn, which summons a mount version of the Basilisk. The Basilisk is a Hardmode enemy found in the Underground Desert biome that moves quickly and highly resists knockback.
